ABOUT ME
Since 1993- I have cared for animals and the people who love them in a variety of veterinary settings, including private practice, shelter medicine, house call/in-home visits, community
clinics, relief work, and telemedicine. I've had the privilege of caring for thousands of patients through every stage of life.
Over the years, I noticed that even with today's diagnostics, surgery, and appropriate medications, some patients--especially those with chronic or complicated problems- still weren't getting better. Sometimes we were treating the symptom(s) without figuring out what was going on within them.
That led me to learn more about different ways of looking at health and healing. It also taught me the value of a second opinion; another perspective I can offer may help put the pieces together.
Today, as a seasoned integrative vet, I enjoy helping pet owners understand their options; I believe good veterinary care is a thorough conversation. I share what I've learned, you share what you've noticed or learned about your pet, and together we decide what makes the most sense.
Integrative medicine doesn't mean choosing between older or newer approaches. It means being open to using the right combo of tools. And sometimes it is no tool at all, but about taking a step back and asking more questions.
